Lock Risk Consulting was founded on a simple premise: security must be engineered, not added.
With more than 25 years of experience across physical security, cybersecurity, and mission-critical infrastructure, LockRisk brings a practitioner’s perspective to complex environments where failure is not an option. Our work sits at the intersection of design, operations, and risk, helping organizations build security programs that are resilient, scalable, and aligned with real-world threats.
Our Founder
Chris has held leadership and advisory roles across some of the most demanding environments in the industry, including work supporting hyperscale data centers, global security operations, and high-security facilities. His experience includes contributing to physical security design requirements at Microsoft, leading security consulting initiatives, and working closely with engineering and construction teams to embed security into the earliest stages of design.
He has also founded and led technology and consulting organizations, including a video management software company acquired during the early evolution of IP-based security systems, giving him a unique understanding of both technology development and real-world deployment.
He leads Lock Risk as a disabled veteran-owned security consulting firm built on real-world experience and a mission-first mindset. He brings a background forged in the U.S. Army to help organizations secure data centers and critical infrastructure by aligning physical, cyber, and operational security into a unified, resilient strategy. Clients trust him for disciplined execution, practical solutions, and the ability to deliver in high-stakes environments where uptime and risk truly matter.

Author & Thought Leadership
Chris is the author of Data Center Security: The Blueprint for Resilient Infrastructure, a practitioner-focused guide that defines how modern data centers must be secured against evolving physical and cyber threats.
The book reflects the same philosophy that drives LockRisk:
- Security must be integrated from site selection through operations
- Risk must be understood across power, water, network, and physical domains
- Design decisions made early will determine long-term resilience
In addition to his writing, Chris actively engages with the industry through advisory roles, peer review contributions, and collaboration with architects, engineers, and security professionals across North America.
What We Do
LockRisk Security Consulting specializes in:
- Data Center Security Strategy & Design
- Physical Security Architecture & Engineering Integration
- Grid-to-Rack Infrastructure Protection (Power & Utility Security)
- Operational Security & Governance
- Cyber-Physical Convergence (IoT, edge devices, and integrated systems)
We work alongside owners, developers, and A&E teams to ensure security is not an afterthought, but a foundational element of the infrastructure itself.
Our Approach
- We do not sell products. We do not follow templates.
- We deliver independent, experience-driven guidance rooted in how facilities are actually built, operated, and attacked.
At Lock Risk, security is treated as a system, designed with intention, validated through experience, and aligned to the realities of modern critical infrastructure.
